Summer Reading Program

All Together Now 2023 Summer Reading Program

June 1-July 31

Register at arcpls.beanstack.org beginning May 22, 2023

Richmond County residents of all ages are invited to participate in our annual Summer Reading Program. This year’s theme is All Together Now which encourages kindness, friendship, and unity.  Read, earn prizes (while supplies last), and participate in a variety of fun and free programs over the summer!  You may even win one of our weekly drawings!

You can pre-register at arcpls.beanstack.org starting May 22, 2023.  Starting June 1st, registration will be open at all Augusta-Richmond County Public Library System (ARCPLS) locations.  All participants can log their activities virtually at arcpls.beanstack.org or on a paper log that can be obtained at any of our six locations.

Summer Reading Program Kickoff Event

Our Summer Reading Kickoff will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Brookfield Park (2740 Mayo Rd, Augusta, GA 30909) from 11:00am-3:00pm. There will be hotdogs from Lanier’s Fresh Meat Market, shaved ice from Kona Ice, a petting zoo from Wallace’s Farm, games, crafts, and more!

Registration & Rules:

Register at arcpls.beanstack.org or at any of our locations. Need help registering or forgot your password from last year?  Call Headquarters or your local library branch, and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Ages 0-18.

  • Kids ages 0-18 who read or are read to at least 20 minutes a day can earn great prizes.
  • After logging 10 days of reading (doesn’t have to be consecutive), kids earn a free book or another prize of their choice, up to 3 times over the summer (while supplies last).
  • Kids who read at least 30 days by July 31 will receive a completion prize (while supplies last) and will be entered to win grand prizes! The grand prize drawings will be held during the first week of August 2023.
  • Log reading at beanstack.org. or on the Beanstack app. You can also pick up a paper log at any ARCPLS location.
  • Listening to audiobooks also counts as reading. Your library card gives access to free audiobooks, e-books, and e-magazines via the Libby app as well as access to free audiobooks and e-books on eRead Kids.

 

Ages 19 and older.

Grown-ups can participate in the fun too!

  • Read at least 20 minutes a day (includes listening to audiobooks) with the goal of reading for 30 days (doesn’t have to be consecutive) to reach 600 minutes of reading between June 1-July 31.
  • Log reading at beanstack.org. or on the Beanstack app. You can also pick up a paper log at any ARCPLS location.
  • Once you have completed the goal, you can visit any of our locations to pick up a completion prize (while supplies last). You will also be entered into the grand prize drawing.

 

Programs

Attend programs at Headquarters, at your neighborhood branch, as well as virtually. Programming will include live animals, hands-on science, crafts and more!  Go to arcpls.org/events/ to see our full event calendar.

Be sure to attend the Evenings in Appleby Gardens Concert Series which will be held every Tuesday in June starting June 6th (June 6, June 13, June 20, and June 27) at 8:00pm at our Appleby Branch on 2260 Walton Way. Go arcpls.org/concerts for more information.
