Thank you, Augusta!

Over 400 people came out last night to hear Dr. Robert Foster, Mr. Travis Shaw, Mr. Mike West and two very talented students, Stephanie Phillips & Cole Dunkirk, representing the Augusta University Jazz Department play everything from old standards to original compositions. Summer Eve Garden Party, with their elegance-themed picnic, took home the Garden Party Winner of the Week title and the $25.00 gift card to Buona Caffe. As usual, Hammonds Ferry Residents gave them a run for their coffee with their Mardi Gras jazz theme.

Join us next week for the final concert featuring the Ft. Gordon Signal Corps Band. Tell all your friends that Stewart's Mobile BBQ will be on hand selling plenty of chicken and ribs (around $5 for sandwiches; up to $15 for plates) to help get us in the Independence Day holiday spirit. You don't want to miss it!

Not just the neighborhood turns out for the Evenings In Appleby Gardens Concerts. First Southern Methodist Church right behind the library on Johns Road uses the opportunity to seek donations in exchange for close, safe parking for concert attendees. They've been able to send kids to camp for years off of those generous donations.

"No Time For Siesta" won last week's Garden Party of the Week Contest, knocking Hammonds Ferry Residents off their throne. Special thanks to Buona Caffe for donating a $25.00 gift card to each week's winner. Who will win this week's contest? Make sure you stop in tonight to see.

Stick around as Dr. Robert Foster and representatives from our own Augusta University Jazz Department make their way down the street as this week's Evenings In Appleby Gardens Concert Series performers. We're so excited to have our talented neighbors performing especially for our neighborhood.

8 pm. Be there or be square.

As always, a very special thanks to series financial sponsor, Fulcher Hagler LLP.

A very, very, special, special and belated thanks to the CSRA Shag Club, Richard & Tara Connor and Sonji Aycock for their incredibly generous offer to come help us try something new last week. With almost 400 people in attendance, we think they've started something wonderful to look forward to every Summerville summer. Take a look and see for yourself.
